Feathers have long been a favorite motif for quilters. Feather Quilt is the first of my quilts using the feather as a design element. Colorful feathers flow from gold to dark brown on a gracefully curving border around a traditional feathered circle. The feathers were cut using the AccuCut® Roller Die Cutting System with a die I designed for use by quilters and crafters. Check with your local quilt shop for this cutting service. Turtles are great! They remind us to slow the pace of our busy lives and remain persistent in the long race. These colorful turtles are quietly floating along in a water garden of lily pads. This quilt combines some foundation paper piecing, traditional piecing and a bit of machine appliqué.
